About Ms. Lulu

"Lulu's Village Of Music"  has been working with students ranging from toddlers to 99+ years of age for over many years. A specialized method of teaching developed as Ms. Lulu planned and developed the lessons according to the strengths and capacities of the student...

It is now called the LIG Method.

Lulu began her Musical training at the age of 4. Shortly afterwards, her Music Teacher discovered her ability to play and comprehend Music that was beyond her years. At the age of 6, Lulu had already learned how to play the Accordion and the Organ along with writing musical compositions.

At the age of 8, Lulu performed professionally alongside

Cuban Salsa Performer - Celia Cruz and percussionist Tito Puente,

on a television program called, "Siempre en Domingo".

At a young age, she demonstrated great level of maturity and professionalism when it came to working in the field of Music.

Lulu attended Parochial Schools in the Los Angeles Archdiocese, for Elementary, Middle School and High School. The Carmelite Nuns were part of the teaching staff that also played a significant role in the inspiration and training of Lulu. At the age of 9, she started playing the Church Organ with the Children's Choir. Her Music Teacher, a Vatican Organist, was stepping down as the Church Organist and Lulu, followed in her Teachers' footsteps, becoming the official Church Organist at the age of 9 1/2 years old.

Lulu began helping the Choir Director, Sr. Maureen, by writing melodies and harmonies that would be appropriate for the voices of the Children's Choir. At the age of 11, she was considered the Music Director Assistant and helped in the proper selection of Liturgical Music and would train Musician's, Cantors and Choir Members.

While in High School, Lulu had begun teaching Music. She saw the frustration that many students and parents encountered with Music Books and Lesson Plans that were set forth by the Author. Lulu, started to incorporate her own style of teaching by working with the strengths of the student and customizing the lesson plans and music for each student.

This brought much success to her students along with respect and loyalty that still stands today.

In College, Lulu majored in Behavioral Science along with Music:

Piano, Classical Guitar, Voice, Composition and Music Therapy.

Lulu has worked as a Professional Musician as a Soloist in Concerts, Ensembles & as a Music Director. She has directed many styles of Choirs ranging from amateur to professional, children to adults and bi-lingual to multi-cultural: English, Spanish, Tagalog, Portuguese, Igbo and Latin.

Lulu loves instruments, she plays over 10 instruments and is always looking to expand her knowledge and creativity with new instruments.

She teaches students ranging from 2 yrs.10 months to 99+. Some of her Students have Special Need's ranging from Autism, ADD, ADHD, Tourette's Syndrome, Physical and Mental Challenges.
